bathroom
You may think a bath is a bath, but they actually come in all shapes and all sizes and serve different functions.

In an ideal world a walk-in shower and a standalone bath would be the perfect combination, but many of our homes just don’t have that kind of space. With that in mind, the L shaped, and P shaped bath are a design solution that gives an even better bathing experience at a cost-effective price.

What is an L shaped bath?
An L shaped bath is exactly that straight but with a bit at the end that widens out into a figure L. The wider end is basically a space so that you have more room for showering. Of course, you can position a shower at the end of a traditional bath too, but the L shape bath makes the experience more comfortable and can accommodate more spray from the shower.

Why are L shaped baths useful?
L shaped baths are an excellent option if you want a showering experience that gives you room to manoeuvre in a bathroom that is too compact for a standalone shower. Basically, this is the perfect space-saver and will suit almost any bathroom perfectly.
Because L shaped baths are designed to be wider at one end, they offer you more room to stretch out too.
They can be designed with a left-hand L shape or a right-hand L shape so you can place them against any wall.
They can also be adapted to suit the character and feel of the rest of your property – for example you can choose vintage style taps to suit the style of a period home or opt for a more contemporary set for a modernist look.

What is the difference between an L shaped bath and a P shaped one?
It’s all a matter of aesthetics as both the L shaped bath and P shaped bath fulfil the same kind of function. If you prefer a curvier look then the P shaped bath is for you, while the L shaped bath is usually squared off at the corners and is therefore more geometric in appearance.

How to know whether you should choose an L shaped bath or P shaped one?
While both of these excellent space-saving baths serve the same purpose, the P shaped bath is probably a better option if you enjoy a relaxing soak rather than a quick shower. The curves of the P shaped bath will be more accommodating than the more geometric L shape. If you’re someone who prefers to shower, then you can choose your bath on aesthetic preference alone.

Five reasons for an L shaped or P shaped bath
